Summary
Shangri-La
Air JM Electric Vehicles will provide Plug and Play electric conversions for
experimental and Ultralight aircraft. Resulting in great cost save for the pilot
as well as reducing greenhouse gases to help save the planet. The actual numbers for
example, a pilot flying 100 hours per year will save $2200 every year on fuel
alone.
This patented battery assembly kit will allow us to assemble 18Kw battery packs in a few minutes.
We will sell these packs and for see them out selling our conversion kits for the 1st couple of years.
The batteries are secured in the held by the top and bottom pieces, they just drop-in a retaining ring
in the tubes keeps them in place all the DIY battery pack assembler does is decide how many serial packs he
needs and how many parallel pack he needs. and assemble the packs.
Our clients will be comprised of experimental aircraft pilots and instructors who fly for
recreation and for basic aircraft training. We will convert our ChII challenger
ultralight this fall and winter and have a plug and play solution for the Challenger
Ultralight community.
On June 25th I suffered a fuel starvation on takeoff which caused me to
have a crash landing, a situation which kills over 200 pilots per year! This is
almost impossible to happen with an electric motor!
Figure1 1Kw of batteries using technology for way back in
2018 it weights 70Kg
Our battery pack weighs 70Kg and packs 18Kw of energy!
Figure 2 these new 21700 Cells have 80% more energy than
the 18650 cells of yesteryear! We will have 100 packs with a total of 1000
batteries carrying a total weight of 70Kg. We will remove 90Kg.
Executive Summary
Shangri-La Air Electric Converstion will be situated at in B.C at Pitt Meadows Airport for phase two (testing) spring 2021.
We are given the opportunity to fly recreation ally in Ultralight aircraft and Small electric training planes.,with an
electric motor, you see, only model aircraft have been allowed that luxury till
TODAY!
Thecombination of watts per Kg and cost per kg have coincided to give me a unique
and short window to be the 1st NEW battery based EV shop, we will
use brand new batteries and motors we will be able to deliver better
performance and the same range 2.5 hrs. As the original design.
This is where the rubber hits the road! The cost today of a starter, heater, Rotax 582
motor is $7,000 US or $9,200 CDN.

The cost per cell by 50% in two years as the next generation batteries are
developed.
The Battery community has long sought the $100 per Kw dream, we are now at $11 per kW.
We will develop a plug and play option 1st for the Challenger II the company
plane.
We will equip the plane with amphibious, like these in this picture and fly it towing a
banner announcing the electric plane.
With CAD/CAM, 3d printers, CNC lathe and Waterjet cutter we will design the
enclosures, motor mounts and all electrical components to the existing wiring.
In our plane we have the perfect place the gas tank and engine compartment.
All components will be MFG, out of carbon fiber, aluminum and steel where need ed and the battery packs will snap in
and snap out on custom rails for each plane.
The motors for our 1st project will be re positioned using the current
engine mount inverted as is done with many of the Challengers.
General Company Description
At Shangri-La Air Electric Conversions, we will design
and fabricate plug and play replacements for ice engines!
Using sophisticated three dimensional computer aided design
software and the latest ultra fast graphics cards week and designed and
fabricate a complete replacement system from the engine wiring back to the
propeller, we will have a house that capability of manufacturing not all the
part components that are necessary, for the fabrication of the complete plug
and play system.
We have designed two 3 piece 10 battery, SABAS© battery
holder. Each holder there will be two models a series battery holder and a
parallel Battery holder. The holder will be assembled 4 components a top &
bottom, middle (battery holder), and front and back. The batteries will drop in
and the top, bottom and sides will snap on and create a complete 37.5V or a
48Apack, we will have a fitted outer shell which will house the power outlet
and the charger input. These packs will all have cooling channels built in as
well as a small heat exchanger for cooling the batteries while producing heat
for cabin. The time savings for the assembly will drop from 2-4 hours per power
pack to 10-15 minutes.
Theses 10 battery packs will be sold to DIY EV enthusiasts.
The batteries, will be integrated into the aircraft
replacing the space taken by the fuel tanks, and in most aircraft the area
underneath the engine. These two spaces will provide enough volume for
batteries to be installed and remove within 2 minutes.
This rapid change capability will provide ultralight
training schools week the capability of rapidly charging dead batteries when of
the fly on a spare set of batteries which they can swap and in between flights.
The batteries to be recharged within about 30 minutes. So
essentially a flight school would have an enormous advantage over flight
schools that use internal combustion engines. This advantage would be as much
as the $20.00 per hour.
With 100 hrs. Per year, as the very high and of Ultralight
use for the recreational Ultralight pilot, he will see that gasoline and cost
savings of $2000 a year.
The ultralight instructor on the other hand, will it usually
fly depending on whether to 500 to 2000 hours a year, the busy school will be
in high and will replace their engines to three times a year. If we take 500
hours as the average then the savings in the 1st year alone will be
$10,000 in fuel and $3800 in rebuild expenses along with the 99.9% reliability
of the system.
The fact that our system will never need replacing in life
of the plane, means that we will be offering the owner of an ultralight
anywhere in North America the ability to replace his worn out engine with a
power plant that would give him everything he will need to teach or just to fly
for the rest of his life without ever paying another dollar for gas, or another
dollar foreign engine rebuild, the engines in these ultralight had a 500 hour
time between rebuild time and the rebuild price is 3000 to 5000 dollars.
So this Sunday our target market initially Ultralight flight
schools worldwide once we have the solidworks cad files for the plane I will
design the swap down to the millimetre.
Our prototype will garner great deal of attention on March
the Ultralight world I already have been contacted by a large number of Ultralight
pilots interested in my progress.
The ultralight aircraft market, he’s expected to reach
$390,000,000 worldwide by 2020.
There currently about 30,000 experimental and Ultralight
Aircraft flying United States of that number 10% will be requiring an engine
the replacement and the any given year, giving us a potential marketplace of
3000 aircraft per year.
The experimental and light sport and the Asian market is our
target market and although numbers have been steady they have remained at
roughly the same level for new to the last 10 years. 160,000 planes flying.
We have projected from the interest that we have received from the aviation community
will sell 5-10 units in the 1st and 2nd quarter after the sale of our 1st system.
We will be expecting a rapid growth during the third and
fourth quarters of the first year, by the year and we should be looking at 20
units. Our cost of materials is $6700 per unit
Economic Savings
The economy of this project is twofold, savings in operating
costs and saving the planet 1 ton of CO2 at a at time.
With the cost to a builder is $12,000. The ICE engine and
propeller is $9000 leaving a difference of $6,000. @ 100 hours the cost works
out at $20 per or $1,000 saved over the next two years assuming 200 hrs per year
he will save $5,000. So in 2.5 years he will save the $6,000 difference. He
will continue to pocket $22/hr. as long as he flies the plane. The only repairs
will be to the coverings, the Challenger II cohort has 600 registered CH II’s
in Canada there are approximately 9,000 Light Sport aircraft in the USA. We
will contact all kit plane makers around the world and offer our EV option to
them, our price will make it very hard for other competitors as Rolls Royce
Aviation-Electric engines sell for $20,000 alone.
Marketing Plan
Phase I
My marketing will be social media, I will post to Challenger
Ultralight Channels weekly videos of my progress, I will post to Instagram,
Facebook, Twitter on a regular basis.
We email all the ultralight school in the world promoting
our plug and play system and our unique ability to build power conversions for
Ultralights, in Phase I.
Phase II
We market our Sail Boat Conversion to electric propulsion
and all electric appliances. Working with local boat yards we will purchase an
older ice power assisted sailboat and do a refit for electrical population and
all electric appliances.
Sail is such an obvious next step as the surface area on
the decks and a portion of the sails would ideal places for solar collectors.
We will market to YouTube Sailing channel hosts as well as
the above mentioned social media focused on boats, with the entry into this
category we will be positioned to move on to phase III motor boats.
Phase III
We will market our Boat Conversion to electric propulsion

electric appliances.
Power is such an obvious next step as the surface area on
the decks and a portion of the sails would ideal places for solar collectors.

Facts about the industry:
The greatest growth since the industrial revolution is
happening in EV technology of any field in science. Countries emerging out of 3rd
world status now have the opertunity to electrify the entire country without
the 10’s to 100’s of millions as the west did. Insttead Europe, Australia Asia
Arica and all over the globe it is becoming clear the off-grid living is not
just a wish of some way-out hippy commune it practical in way that could not
have been implemented just 5 years ago!
This economy of power has finally broken the Holy Grail of
electrical engineers the $100/Kw barrier, 5 year ago that cost was $1,000
making the Tesla 90s over $100,000, at $100/Kw the batteries for the Tesla S
$6500 about the cost of a replacement engine small car.
The cost of materials will continue to drop and we will be
able to sustain profits margins

Operational Plan
Location
We will be based out of a hangar at Pitt Meadows B.C. I have
chosen CYPK.
Pitt meadows offers major benefits over any other site, the
airport has 3 runways as well as ½ test track. With these resources taxi test,
crow hops and test flights will take place on a single runway with taxi, high
speed taxi and crow hops on the runway with lengths up to 5000’ we will be able
to do all the testing within 100’ of the hanger. The hanger will house out
manufacturing center, fabrication and test stand.
Management and Organization
Roy Kerwood will be the director of operations. His 25 years
as a small business owner and 16 years of recovery place him well to start and
run this amazing business.
Roy suffered with alcoholism and addiction for all his adult
life! A disease which among other things made it impossible for Roy to maintain
a credit rating. In 2004 Roy found a treatment plan which, frankly saved his
life. He has rebuilt a Challenger II Ultralight and this year received his
license endorsement. At 70 Roy is no spring chicken!
Financial Plan
Phase I
Phase I funding with our equity of $25,000 we will take on a
venture partner to match my initial capital of $25,000. With $50,000 we will
start our direct marketing and telemarketing campaign. And we will order all
our hardware for 3 kits.
Phase II
Phase II (Spring-Summer 2021) depending on orders we will
need $100,000 to gear up and purchase all out supplies to reach our sales
targets.
Phase III
Phase III (1st Qtr. 2022) All investors will be
offered a negotiated buy out of their 49% stake. Time frame
We have been asked to do a project video for the audiences
of 3 YouTube channels KnowYouKnow with its 200,000 subscribers, has invited me
to their channel. They discuss EV and all things electric. The get 10’s of
thousands of views. By the time we do our first flight, broadcast live, to
YouTube, we expect to have 10 -100 thousand viewers.
We will post regular updates on out YouTube channels and
believe that by the spring 2021 we will have a large viewership, and we expect
to have 10 deposits for late spring delivery.
